Workshops
Release, Transform, and Flourish" Mini Workshop! I'm delighted to journey with you in this 2.5 hour workshop, as you embark on a mini exploration of self-discovery and growth. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Shannon Marie Thompson, a Registered Social Worker with a decade of experience in guiding individuals on their paths to wellness. My approach is gentle and nurturing, rooted in a deep respect for each person's unique journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Now, let's delve into the enriching experiences we have planned for 2.5 hour workshop.
- In this reflective session, we'll put pen to dissolvable paper, releasing what no longer serves us and inviting in the intentions that align with our deepest desires for 2024.
- Gentle extended 45-minute Neurofeedback Session. Experience the transformative power of NeurOptimal® neurofeedback. This gentle approach has you lay back and relax. The way it works: as you listen to music, there will be audible and inaudible breaks which will reflect the brain's activity to itself. As your brain observes itself for the first time, it takes the opportunity to make changes. It’s like putting on makeup and then for the first time looking into a mirror and going “Oops I need to clean things up a little here”. After one session, some people report feeling more relaxed and an increased mood, but after 10 sessions many report less stress, anxiousness, a better mood, improved sleep, and more emotional balance.
- Yoga Nidra. Join me for Yoga Nidra, often called "yogic sleep." During a session, participants are gently guided through intentional muscle tensing and relaxing, along with short breathing exercises, allowing one to unwind and experience a profound sense of relaxation. Using mindfulness participants are then guided to focus on various body parts, encouraging focus and a deeper relaxation. During the session, participants are invited to set an intention or "Sankalpa" for the practice. As individuals mentally visualize and affirm their deepest desires, the subconscious mind absorbs and manifests these intentions. Lastly, beautiful visualizations transport participants to serene landscapes, fostering a deep sense of inner peace and connection. Yoga Nidra offers a holistic approach to relaxation, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit, and providing a sanctuary for inner growth and renewal. The session can be run using a yoga mat and blanket or with the use of a zero-gravity chair and blanket.
You will need: Comfortable clothes, a book if you would like to read during your neurofeedback session.
Provided: Water, herbal tea, pen and paper, blanket, zero gravity chair or yoga mat for neurofeedback and yoga, and relaxing atmosphere.
I'm truly excited to share these few hours with you, filled with opportunities for growth, relaxation, and renewal. Let's embrace this time together and nurture our minds, bodies, and spirits.
With warmth and anticipation,
Shannon Thompson MSW
